Patch 2.3 will also see the advent of guild banks. Gone are the days of creating guild bank characters as a necessity. The Guild leader will be able to give his/her members access to the bank to deposit and withdraw items and even money. I asked a question in the WoW forums a few days ago about what happens to the guild bank's items/money if the guild disbands. I didn't get much of a reply but finally Hortus, the Blizzard poster gives us the answer in another thread.
If the guild is disbanded the current guild leader gets all the items in the bank via his mailbox.
Well actually this isn't any different with the current situation. Since current guild banks are characters of the guild leader or at least an officer of the guild, if the guild disbands all the loot goes to one person anyway. But I was expecting that since guild banks will be an actual bank, perhaps a little more controls could be in place. I was hoping that measures could be placed to prevent the guild leader from running off with the guild's stuff by simply disbanding. This might not be that big a problem for those really big and established guilds since they probably won't just disband unless really necessary. Smaller guilds that tend to form and disband really quickly are possible targets of such abuse.
