We talked about Karazhan and Zul'aman dropping badges of justice when patch 2.3 comes out. That's really great news! But let's go back and talk about the current source of the badges - heroics. Actually, I just want to talk about only one heroic dungeon, the Mechanar. It's pretty much the most popular heroic dungeon because it's pretty easy compared to the others. Right now, even if you skip the Nethermancer because she and her elementals are a bitch, you can still get 4 badges of justice. That will change in patch 2.3 according to one of the updates to the 2.3 PTR patch notes.
The Mechanar: The Cache of the Legion can now only be looted by players who are present during some portion of a successful attempt of the Gatewatcher Gyro-Kill and Gatewatcher Iron-Hand encounters. In addition, on Heroic difficulty Gatewatcher Gyro-Kill and Gatewatcher Iron-Hand no longer drop Badges of Justice. Instead, the Cache of the Legion contains a Badge of Justice for each player present.
Instead of getting one badge each from both Gatewatchers, you'll get only a total of from from the cache of the legion. That drops the total number of badges you can get from doing Heroic Mechanar by one. That could mean the difference of having exactly enough badges for what you want to buy or being one short. That should totally suck! Now it might not be too much of a big deal but I'm sure you agree with me that it does indeed suck.
