Between the generosity of friends, some luck on the AH, and spending a stupid amount of gold on herbs I'm now the proud owner of Darkmoon Card: Greatness. It's one of the best feral trinkets in the game. +90 Agility is nothing to sneeze at and the proc is good for another 300 Agility about 1/3 of the time. Awesome Dodge for bears, great crit and attack power for cats. Very, very happy.
The trinket comes from the Nobles Deck, one of the new Darkmoon Faire decks. Unlike previous iterations these Darkmoon Cards don't drop from mobs, instead inscribers make Darkmoon Card of the North.
It's an expensive recipe: particularly the 3x Eternal Life and the 6x Snowfall Ink. You get roughly one ink per stack of 20 Adder's Tongue, Icethorn, or Lichbloom and the Eternal Life has to be farmed or herbed. At Garona's current prices it comes to about 375g to make a single card. A single random card, that is, which only has a 25% chance of being the deck you want and a 3% chance of being the specific card you need.
You can mitigate the expense somewhat by selling the cards you don't need. Unfortunately the Nobles deck is the most valuable of the four, so don't expect to sell other cards for as much as the Nobles cards go for. Also while milling for the Snowfall Ink you end up with a lot of Ink of the Sea which which can be turned into Vellum to sell to Enchanters. Still, it's a significant expense to make a deck. I was only able to do it thanks to my guildmate who is also making a deck. We swapped our extras, then he generously gave me the last card I needed to complete a deck.
Expensive, but worth it. I've always loved the gear that you have to make for yourself. So much more rewarding than just getting lucky on a random boss drop. And the good thing with a trinket is you have room for two, so it's less likely to go obsolete quickly. I also like that it's quite good for both tanking and cat DPS.
